You can carry smoking devices such as matches or lighters onboard. However, the limitation to each passenger on board is 1 device at most for personal use.

- For flights departing from Shanghai (Pudong) International Airport, neither matches nor lighters are allowed to be carried into the cabin or checked in.
- Neither a cigar lighter (with a strong blue torch flame) nor an oil-tank lighter (without absorbent cottons) can be carried into the cabin or checked in.
